Reviews

100
Chicago Tribune - Gene Siskel
Mixing moments of genuine terror with offbeat comedy, writers Tom Epperson and Thornton have created a script that jumps along wih the energy of "In Cold Blood."
100
Orlando Sentinel - Jay Boyar
Director Carl Franklin takes a simple premise and treats it so straightforwardly that the result is jarring - at times, even powerful.
91
Entertainment Weekly - Owen Gleiberman
Part of what makes One False Move so engrossing is the way the characters keep revealing new, darker sides. The movie is about hidden American links — between city and country, cop and criminal, and the black and white subcultures of the rural South.

Baltimore Sun - Stephen Hunter
One False Move doesn't make a single false move its own self: It's as tough and gripping as they come. It's the first movie I've seen in months where, when I was walking out, I thought to myself, "Damn! I wanna see that one again!"

Philadelphia Inquirer - Steven Rea
The dialogue and action in One False Move seems instinctive and unforced. There isn't an iota of caricature, there isn't an affectation of "style," there isn't a false note sounded.
