Gotcha! (1985)

As a thriller it has its moments, as a romance it's sometimes touching, but as a comedy it's too often a bust.

The basic mistake in the movie isn't in the pacing, but in the storytelling. They've made the movie about its less interesting major character.

Gotcha is a hopelessly shallow film, serving up a good deal of hokum in the ridiculous plot. It's a contrived idea to start with, and the script goes through predictable twist after twist until the inevitable conclusion.

Gotcha is about as devoid of personality as it's possible for a narrative movie to be.
