The martial-arts sequences are zesty, a description that applies to this well-crafted movie as a whole.

While the third film has a little more narrative coherence—involving corporate pollution on a Native American tribe’s land—it’s also lazy in a way that’s hard to look past.

It's no more obnoxious than the original, and in several ways it's more interesting. [08 Apr 1995, p.C7]

There’s barely enough plot for a half-hour episode of a weekly TV series spinoff. And there’s even less here in terms of acting, writing and filmmaking polish to appeal to anyone over the age of 10.

Grown-ups will come away feeling violated by the film's clumsy comedy, ancient plot, and unimaginative action sequences.
