The film never outshines its influences, but as back-to-basics action filmmaking, it's often superb.

Built for speed, and for an action-savvy audience who can appreciate a throwaway vengeance flick for exactly what it is.

Faster is meat-and-potatoes action with a side of crazy.

A pure thriller, all blood, no frills, in which a lot of people get shot, mostly in the head.

A stripped-down affair, from title to characters to plot. It never strives to be more, instead concentrating on making the most of its self-imposed limitations.
